Ethereum Foundation to bring new talents

The Ethereum Foundation is currently undergoing significant leadership restructuring, as announced by co-founder Vitalik Buterin on January 18. This process has been in progress for nearly a year, with some changes already implemented and others still underway.

The main goals of this restructuring include enhancing technical expertise within the leadership and improving communication with various ecosystem participants, such as users, developers, and layer 2 protocols. Buterin emphasized the importance of bringing in new talent, increasing execution speed, and providing better support for application builders.

The foundation aims to strengthen its commitment to privacy, open-source development, and censorship resistance at the application layer. Additionally, it plans to utilize decentralized and privacy technologies for payments and treasury management on the Ethereum blockchain.

However, Buterin clarified that the restructuring will not turn the foundation into a lobbying organization, particularly in major countries like the US. The foundation intends to maintain Ethereum’s neutrality as a global platform and will not cater to specific vested interests or promote centralization within the ecosystem. Buterin stated, “People seeking a different vision are welcome to start their own orgs.”

In conjunction with these changes, the Ethereum Foundation has launched a new X (formerly Twitter) account, @ethereumfndn, marking its return to social media after a year-long hiatus. This initiative aims to enhance transparency and communication, especially following criticism regarding the foundation’s activities and leadership.

The Aave team and other community members have recently called for leadership changes to improve efficiency and address funding concerns. Through the new X account, the Ethereum Foundation plans to engage more actively with its community, sharing updates on operations, grants, and financial disclosures.

Moreover, the foundation intends to connect with decentralized social media platforms like Farcaster, Lens, and Bluesky to further its outreach and engagement efforts.
