Updated September 2026: IQ Option changed the legal entity disclosed for clients outside the European Economic Area. The older version of this article referred to Goshawk Finance LLC in Nevis. IQ Option’s current own disclosures instead name SKY LADDER LLC in Antigua and Barbuda for services outside the EEA.

That change matters because the company named on your agreement determines which regulatory protections and dispute routes actually apply. A familiar brand name is not enough.

THE ROBIUS VERDICT: CAUTION. We could not verify IQ Option or SKY LADDER LLC as a UAE-regulated brokerage entity in the current public registers checked for this review. IQ Option says services outside the EEA are rendered by SKY LADDER LLC, registered in Antigua and Barbuda. IQ Option’s own affiliate agreement explicitly describes SKY LADDER LLC as not regulated. The CySEC-regulated European entity is separate and serves EEA clients. Before funding an account, verify the exact company named in your own agreement.

The Old Nevis Entity Is No Longer the Current Disclosure

The most important correction is the legal entity itself. IQ Option’s current Licenses and Safeguards page says that services in jurisdictions outside the European Economic Area are rendered by SKY LADDER LLC, registration number ILLC 004, registered at The Colony House, 41 Nevis Street, Saint John’s, Antigua and Barbuda.

The older Robius version named Goshawk Finance LLC in Nevis. That information should no longer be used as the current account-entity check. If an old review, forum post, or screenshot still names Goshawk Finance, treat it as historical information and read the current agreement presented to you during account opening.

The European Entity Is Different

Inside the EEA, IQ Option says services are provided by IQBroker Europe Ltd, formerly IQOption Europe Ltd. Cyprus regulator CySEC lists that company as an investment firm under licence 247/14.

That licence should not be read as blanket regulation of every IQ Option account worldwide. IQ Option’s own disclosure says the CySEC-regulated entity serves EEA residents, while services outside the EEA are rendered by SKY LADDER LLC.

The company’s affiliate agreement makes the distinction even clearer: it says IQBroker Europe’s predecessor entity is regulated by CySEC and states that SKY LADDER LLC is not regulated.

What We Could Verify for the UAE

For UAE residents, the relevant question is not whether an IQ Option website or app can be accessed. It is whether the legal entity serving the account is authorised by the regulator responsible for that activity.

Robius checked the current public routes for the UAE Capital Market Authority, the Dubai Financial Services Authority and Abu Dhabi Global Market and could not verify IQ Option or SKY LADDER LLC as a locally regulated brokerage entity. That is why the Robius verdict remains caution.

This is also why we are no longer using the older article’s blanket statement that IQ Option is “legal in the UAE.” Accessibility and local regulatory authorisation are not the same thing, and Robius should not turn one into the other without a clear legal basis.

Binary Options Still Need Separate Attention

IQ Option continues to publish and market fixed-outcome and binary-style trading products outside the European regulatory framework. In Europe, binary options remain subject to national product-intervention measures that prohibit their marketing, distribution or sale to retail clients; ESMA reiterated those measures again in July 2026.

That European restriction does not by itself tell you the legal status of a product in the UAE. The older version of this article stated too broadly that binary options “remain legal in the UAE.” We are removing that claim. The safer and more useful check is to identify the exact product, the legal entity offering it to you, and the regulator — if any — supervising that activity.

Do Not Use a Small Withdrawal as Your Safety Test

The older version of this article advised making a small withdrawal before committing more money. Robius no longer treats that as a reliable legitimacy test.

A successful early withdrawal proves that one withdrawal was processed. It does not prove that the platform is safe, that later withdrawals will work, or that the legal entity gives you meaningful recourse. Fraud schemes can also allow small withdrawals to build confidence before asking for much larger deposits.

The stronger checks happen before money moves: identify the company on the agreement, verify its regulatory status independently, read the withdrawal rules, understand where client funds are held, and know where a dispute would actually go.

Use the Robius five-minute trading-platform check before depositing with any broker or trading app.

The Bottom Line

IQ Option is a real, long-running trading brand. That is not the same thing as saying every account under the brand has the same regulatory protection.

The current evidence is straightforward. The EEA entity, IQBroker Europe Ltd, is regulated by CySEC. IQ Option says services outside the EEA are rendered by SKY LADDER LLC in Antigua and Barbuda, and its own affiliate agreement describes SKY LADDER LLC as not regulated. We could not verify that entity as a UAE-regulated broker in the public UAE registers checked for this review.

So the Robius verdict is CAUTION. Before funding an account, ignore the brand name for a minute and read the company name on the actual agreement in front of you. That is the entity your protections follow.
