Oracle partners with Starlink to offer high-speed internet.
Oracle is partnering with Starlink, the the world’s first and largest satellite constellation using a low Earth orbit, to offer high-speed internet for its Enterprise Communications Platform (ECP). This collaboration allows Oracle customers to connect from remote areas, enabling features like real-time video and audio streaming.
Jason Fritch, SpaceX’s VP of Starlink Enterprise Sales, highlighted that Starlink provides reliable internet access in regions with poor infrastructure. This partnership will help Oracle expand cloud technology and real-time data access for its clients.
Oracle ECP combines fixed, mobile, and Starlink networks to manage cloud applications securely in previously disconnected areas. With Starlink integration, Oracle ECP users can access satellite connectivity in over 100 countries, enhancing global reach.
The platform is built on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, ensuring robust performance and security. It supports real-time data for IoT devices and mobile applications, safeguarding equipment against misuse. The Oracle Cloud Connector allows remote management of video and audio applications, catering to various industry needs. Redundant connectivity ensures application uptime, even during main connection outages.
Real-time connectivity is vital for sectors like healthcare, construction, utilities, hospitality, and public safety. Hospitals can use Starlink and Oracle ECP for reliable access to clinical applications, even in remote clinics. Public safety agencies can ensure that first responders stay connected in areas with limited mobile service.
Andrew Morawski, Oracle Communications’ executive VP, stated that integrating Starlink enhances IoT connectivity and data integrity during emergencies. This collaboration aims to create a smart communications foundation that accelerates business transformation across industries.
Recently, there was a rumor that Oracle and Microsoft are reportedly in talks to take over TikTok. According to reports, the Trump administration is developing a plan to save TikTok by involving Oracle, a software company, along with outside investors. As per the reports, this plan aims to take control of TikTok’s global operations. According to sources familiar with the discussions, the deal would allow ByteDance, TikTok’s China-based owner, to keep a minority stake in the app.
Under the proposed agreement, Oracle would manage TikTok’s algorithm, data collection, and software updates. Oracle already supports TikTok’s web infrastructure, making it a suitable partner for this arrangement. The goal is for American investors to hold a majority stake in TikTok, which would help address national security concerns regarding data privacy and foreign ownership.
